So, 500 sheets of 25" x 38", 60# offset weighs 60 lbs. The basis size for bond is 17" x 22"; for text, offset, and coated 25" x 38"; and for cover 20" x 26". That’s why two similar sheets of different grades may have very different basis weights, The GRADE will get you closer to where you want to be but the g/m 2 (or gsm) number will help you find the thickness for your needs. NOTE: For thick greeting cards, folders, etc, I wouldn’t suggest going any lower than “cover” grade card stock. THEN from there, look at the g/m2 (or gsm) number.
